Morning Drift
Morning Drift, 8” x 8”, oil + cold wax on linen panel, 2026
As we hike down the damp trail, we notice the towering gray-purple limestone cliffs peek out from the horizon through the garrigue. We move up the trail, yapping away single file, and this seemingly plain, everyday cloud appeared out of nowhere.
This cloud demanded our attention.
As the morning sun rose and grew brighter, this cloud matched its vibrancy, casting its warm glow everywhere. I love light, especially morning light, and especially mornings like this where you feel incredibly grateful to be in the right place at the right time.
