Win Some, Lose Some- FA
These weeks have been a whirlwind for me, going here, there and everywhere, this coming week will be no exception. Despite all that is swirling around me, I have been able to get back out to the shooting range (roads are open) and the crag to climb, send climbing projects and fail on others. I am very satisfied with my fitness level for sport climbing, it makes me want to head out to adventure some out of my comfort zone and to try harder routes, which will eventually lead to putting up harder routes. Training, gym time, and of course, hanging off of ropes has helped immensly.
I am not the only one crushing impeccable limestone routes. There is an amazing group of us that are stoked and ridiculously psyched to get after it.....AbZ, Zak, John x 2, Grek, Bros x 3.
It's good to have that camaraderie among my climbing partners. We are very lucky.
Zak, Flag local (below), pulled down this week, and sent his new route Win Some, Lose Some, flowing in at a balmy 5.12+/.13-.
He is super happy to have completed the line, one that Jason Henrie started years ago and was never finished. I am so eager to get on it. It is a Titanic Wall GEM!
I have to say with all the abuse I have been putting my Sterling Ion (9.4mm) through, and a Zak too, who just happens to have the same lead line, it is remarkable how it is only now showing some wear after 8 months of serious abuse here in AZ, UT and CA. It has not sat for longer than a few days.
I may need a new one soon, but I am dam satisfied with the run this rope had (and it's relatively thin and no dry treatment!).
